Delegations of the Customs Administrations of Azerbaijan and Russia Hold a Meeting

On 29 June, a meeting was held between the delegations led by Colonel General of the Customs Service Shahin Baghirov, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Valery Pikalyov, Head of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation.

As part of the meeting, the delegations visited the Yarag-Kazmalyar and Tagirkent-Kazmalyar border crossing points of the North Caucasus Customs Administration of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation. They reviewed the existing infrastructure, technical equipment, processing capacity, and current operations of these customs checkpoints.

The parties also exchanged views on synchronizing the infrastructure capacities of the border crossing points along the state border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, facilitating the movement of goods during peak seasonal periods, and addressing potential congestion affecting the cross-border movement of freight vehicles.

During the meeting, the current state of bilateral customs cooperation was reviewed, and priority areas for its further development were identified.
