Delegation of the State Customs Committee Pays a Working Visit to the People's Republic of China
A delegation of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan paid a working visit to the People's Republic of China to strengthen cooperation between the customs administrations of Azerbaijan and China, as well as to study and exchange best practices in digital customs solutions and the application of artificial intelligence in customs administration.
As part of the visit, the delegation held a meeting with the Deputy Head of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of cooperation between the customs administrations of the two countries and prospects for its further development. They also exchanged experience on digital customs administration, risk management, the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into customs processes, information exchange, the enhancement of operational procedures, and institutional development.
The discussions also covered the expansion of cooperation in implementing the Smart Customs concept, the further development of digital customs solutions, and the opportunities offered by the Middle Corridor.
The delegation also held meetings with representatives of “Huawei”, “Percent” and “Maxvision”, where they were introduced to advanced technological solutions in smart customs and border management, AI-powered decision-making systems, the application of large language models in public services, generative artificial intelligence solutions, intelligent processing of customs declarations, automated goods classification, analytical risk assessment, post-clearance audit and data processing, as well as software solutions used in the customs and logistics sectors.
During the visit, the delegation visited the Liantang and Shekou customs checkpoints located on the Hong Kong–Shenzhen border, where they were introduced to state-of-the-art technological solutions, AI-assisted risk assessment systems, intelligent control mechanisms, automated inspection equipment, digital operational procedures, and advanced customs warehousing practices.
