Azerbaijan's Customs Service shares with Tajikistan its experience on activity of customs checkpoints

A meeting on the theme "Studying advanced practices on the activity of customs checkpoints" was held with the delegation of senior officials on border management of the Republic of Tajikistan at the State Customs Committee on November 8.

The meeting was attended by deputy chairman of the State Customs Committee, customs service Major-General Javad Gasimov, officials of the Committee, officials of Tajikistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Border Troops and Customs Service, as well as a representative of OSCE Program Office in Dushanbe.

Deputy chairman of the State Customs Committee Javad Gasimov said productive cooperation had been established between the two countries in all spheres, including customs. Deputy chairman of the Committee gave information about the activity of Azerbaijan's customs bodies, underlined that the reforms carried out by President Ilham Aliyev had led to the facilitation of the international trade and customs procedures, ensured citizens' satisfaction and transparency, had created favorable conditions for improvement of business environment. It was said that as a result of structural and staff reforms carried out over the recent two years, dynamic management system was being applied, this paved the way for more productive customs system.

Javad Gasimov informed the guests about the Green corridor, One inspector - one transport vehicle and other projects, said they were pleased to share this experience with Tajikistan.

Head of the Customs Control Department of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdukadirzoda Camshed said the aim of the visit was to study the advanced practices on the activity of customs checkpoints in Azerbaijan. Highly appreciating Azerbaijani Customs Service's experience and the innovations in the customs system, the Tajik guest gave information about the organization's activity and goals.

Abdukadirzoda Camshed underlined the experience of Azerbaijan's Customs Service regarding information technologies, said his country wanted to benefit from this experience.

After the guests, the guests familiarized themselves with "Hedef" (Target) Center of the State Customs Committee, were given detailed information about the Center's activity.

The delegation from Tajikistan visited Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Baku International Sea Trade Port, Astara customs checkpoint on the border with the Islamic Republic of Iran, familiarized themselves with the projects on the application of information technologies in the customs system.
