Javad Gasimov was born in Baku on May 31, 1967.
In 1991 he graduated from the Azerbaijan State Oil and Chemistry Institute.
In 1991 he began his labor activity in "Bakkondisioner" Scientific Production Association.
Since 1994 he worked in High Voltage Electric Networks of the "Production and Transmission of Energy" Union of "Azerenergy" state company, since 1996 hold various positions at the "ВНИПМ морнефтегаз" Open Joint-Stock Company of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
In 1986-1988 he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army.
In 1999 he worked as an Inspector of the Division of Customs Clearance and Control of Baku Excise Customs Post of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
In 1999-2002 he worked as a Chief of Customs Clearance and Control Division of Baku Excise Customs Post of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
In 2002-2006 he worked as a Chief of the Passenger Division of the General Department for Organization of Customs Control of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
In 2006 he worked as a Chief of Customs Regime Control Department of the General Department for Organization of Customs Control of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
In 2006-2008 he worked as First Deputy Chief of the General Department for Organization of Customs Control of the State Customs Committee - Chief of Customs Regime Control Department;
In 2014-2018 he worked as a Chief of the General Department for Organization of Customs Control.
In 2018 he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In 2003-2006 while serving at the State Customs Committee, he received a correspondence education at the Russian Customs Academy and graduated from the Academy with honors. He participated in the events organized by various international organizations related to customs affairs and delivered presentations.
In 2008, Javad Gasimov was awarded with the medal "Distinguished Public Service" by the relevant Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Married, has 2 children.
