Elections were held on the final day of the 145th/146th sessions of the World Customs
Organization (WCO) Council for Customs Cooperation to form representation in the
organization’s governing bodies.
With the activities carried out within the framework of the WCO and the support of the customs
services of member states, the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan was
elected as a member of the WCO Political Commission.
The Political Commission is one of the main decision-making bodies playing a key role in
shaping the WCO’s highest-level strategic documents, determining the organization’s long-term
policy, and ensuring high-level political coordination among member states.
The representation of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan in this
important decision-making body will not only ensure more active and purposeful participation in
the formation of international customs policy but will also serve as a significant platform for
bringing innovative initiatives to the international arena.
