More Than 39 Kilograms of Heroin Concealed Using a Sophisticated Method Detected

As a result of measures carried out by officers of the Nakhchivan General Customs Department, a particularly large quantity of narcotic drugs was detected and removed from illicit circulation.

At the Julfa Customs border crossing point a vehicle transporting a consignment declared as “plastic cladding panels” from Iran to Poland in transit through Azerbaijan was subjected to customs inspection.

During the inspection, a particularly large quantity of narcotics, heroin, with a total net weight of 39 kilograms 315.246 grams was discovered in 780 packages that had been placed and compressed inside the plastic laminate panels of the vehicle using methods intended to hinder detection of the goods. 

The case is under investigation.
