Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Customs Service Lieutenant General Shahin Baghirov, talked about the successful oil strategy implemented in our country, stating that the "Contract of the Century," signed as a result of the visionary policy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, was a very significant historical event in the socio-political and economic life of independent Azerbaijan. As a result of the rapid increase in oil and gas production in Azerbaijan, the country became a major oil and gas exporter in the region and the world. The event also discussed BP and the companies working with it in the implementation of social and infrastructure projects in Azerbaijan. Additionally, the existing relations between customs authorities and companies operating in the oil and gas sector were touched upon, as well as recent improvements in the customs system, innovations implemented, strategic goals, priority directions, and ongoing and planned projects were discussed.
