Buch

Buch

Buch is a male East European Shepherd. The East European Shepherd is an "improved and modified version" of the German Shepherd by Soviet breeders, combining the best qualities of its relative. It is more compact and has an impressive size, being more phlegmatic than its German cousin. This breed, developed in the Russian Federation, is considered universal: it serves both as a guard and a search dog, aiding law enforcement and security services. However, professional training is required for this role. On August 6, 2020, at the Astara Railway customs post, a container traveling from the Islamic Republic of Iran through the Republic of Azerbaijan to Poland was inspected. A service dog named "Buch" reacted to two pallets, where 200.8 kg of heroin was found hidden in 14 bags packed inside clay.
