The deposit will be applied during transit transportation of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products

According to Article 258.1.4 of the Customs Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to ensure the payment of customs debt that may arise during transit transportation of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products since October 1, 2024 the deposit will be used as a guarantee method.

The amount of the guarantee is set at a minimum equivalent of 200,000 (two hundred thousand) US Dollars for each transit vehicle. On the day of approval of the customs declaration, a document confirming the deposit of funds in the form of a bank deposit in manats, according to the exchange rate determined by the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, must be submitted to the customs authority.
