A meeting was held with the experts of the World Customs Organization

On June 17, a meeting was held at the State Customs Committee with Ms.Mercedes Cano and Mr.Takayuki Fukushima, integrity experts from the World Customs Organization (WCO). 

During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed regarding the long-standing and professional cooperation between the WCO and the Azerbaijan Customs Service. The significance of adopting new approaches and best practices in the field of transparency was also emphasized.

It was noted that Azerbaijan has a special state program aimed at ensuring transparency, within the framework of which strategic objectives have been defined, including the preparation of a long-term action plan for the customs system in accordance with this program. To achieve successful results in this regard, the implementation of electronic solutions within the customs system is being expanded, and training sessions are being organized in cooperation with relevant state bodies to enhance the capacity of personnel. WCO experts emphasized the importance of an upcoming seminar for customs officers on this topic, noting its critical role in facilitating the acquisition of new knowledge and strengthening institutional capacity in this domain.
