The smuggling of more than 112 kilograms of a narcotic substance - heroin - concealed using a special method has been prevented

At the “Shahtakhti” border crossing point of the Nakhchivan General Customs Department, a vehicle carrying a cargo of “finished food products” from Iran to Germany in transit through the territory of Azerbaijan was inspected using a stationary X-ray unit, and subsequently the cargo was subjected to a detailed customs inspection.

Method of concealment

During the inspection, the narcotic substance was detected in the bottom sections of 1,218 plastic containers filled with canned rice.

The net weight of the heroin, concealed using a sophisticated method, was 112 kg 761.757 grams.

The case is currently under investigation.
